My favorite season has always been summer, or it was, until I found out that hers was winter. So I guess my favorite season is winter. But right now, it's one hundred degrees outside, and I love it. I love that it's hot, I love all of my free time, and I love that Mason is spending most of his time at football camp instead of in my face. I wonder if you're enjoying
the curvature of her back.
The spine, a row of ossified crowns
crowded and curved around that defining neural superhighway;
that extension cord,
adventurously connecting the visceral
to the peripheral.
The horseshoe crab vertebrae
scuttle to break through skin at your touch;
reach out,
a defining shiver.
I see your hands
